What Information We Collect

Your Account Basics

When you sign up, we need:

  • Your email address (so you can log in)
  • A password (managed securely by Firebase Authentication)

That's it. We don't need your name, birthday, or any other personal details.

What We Store When You Record

When you create an entry, we store:

  • Your voice recording (the audio file)
  • The transcript (your words converted to text)
  • AI-generated summaries and insights
  • When you made the entry

How You Use the App

We track basic usage to improve Threadkeeper:

  • Which features you use (like recording voice or viewing summaries)
  • If something crashes or has an error
  • How long your sessions are

Important: We track what you do in the app, but never the content of what you say or think.

Threadkeeper uses AI to turn your voice recordings into transcripts and summaries. Here's what you should know:

  • Your content is never used to train AI models
  • Your content is never shared with third parties

How We Protect Your Information

Strong Encryption

Your data is protected with industry-standard encryption:

  • In transit: All data is encrypted when traveling between your phone and our servers
  • At rest: All data is encrypted when stored on our servers
  • We use AWS Key Management Service (KMS) with automatic key rotation

We chose services that share our privacy values:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) - Where your encrypted data lives
  • Firebase Authentication - Handles your login securely
  • Stripe - Processes payments (they handle your card info, not us)

Each service has strict privacy standards. We've configured them for maximum privacy.

What We Do With Your Information

Your Personal Content

We don't manually access your content unless you explicitly share it with us for support. We:

  • Never read your transcripts or listen to your entries (unless you share them with us)
  • Never analyze your content for marketing
  • Never use your content to train AI models
  • Never share your content with third parties

Usage Information

We use basic app usage data to:

  • Fix bugs and crashes
  • Understand which features people like
  • Make the app better

This data is linked to your account to help us improve features you use. We never share this data with third parties.

Your Rights and Controls

Export Everything

Want a copy of all your data? You can download:

  • All your entries
  • All transcripts and summaries
  • Your entire Threadkeeper history

It's yours to keep forever.

Delete Everything

Changed your mind? You can:

  • Delete individual entries
  • Delete your entire account
  • When you delete something, it's gone within 24 hours

Delete means delete. We don't keep secret copies.

Control Notifications

You decide if you want:

  • Push notifications when summaries are ready
  • Email updates about new features
  • You can turn these off anytime

When We Have to Share Information

We believe in complete transparency about our legal obligations:

Legal Requirements

If a court orders us to share data, we have to comply. But:

  • We'll only share what's legally required
  • We'll tell you if legally allowed
  • Your encryption still protects you

Threadkeeper is designed for users 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
