Threadkeeper Terms of Service

Welcome to Threadkeeper

These terms explain the agreement between you and Threadkeeper when you use our app. We've written this in plain English because legal documents shouldn't need a law degree to understand.

The basics: You record your thoughts, we help organize them with AI, and your privacy is protected. Let's dive into the details.

Using Threadkeeper

Who Can Use Threadkeeper

  • You must be 17 or older
  • You need to create an account
  • One person per account (no sharing)

What You Can Do

With Threadkeeper, you can:

  • Record your thoughts and ideas
  • Get AI-generated summaries and insights
  • Review and export your content
  • Delete anything you've created

What You Can't Do

Please don't:

  • Try to hack or break the app
  • Upload content you don't own
  • Use Threadkeeper to harm others
  • Share your account credentials
  • Violate any laws

Your Content

You Own Your Thoughts

Everything you record and create in Threadkeeper belongs to you:

  • Your voice recordings
  • Your transcripts
  • Even the AI-generated summaries

We don't claim any ownership of your content.

License to Provide the Service

To make Threadkeeper work, you give us permission to:

  • Store your encrypted recordings
  • Process them with AI to create transcripts and summaries
  • Display your content back to you
  • Create backups for safety

This permission is only for running the service. We never use your content for anything else.

Content Guidelines

Threadkeeper is your private space, but our AI still has limits:

  • The AI won't help with illegal activities
  • It may refuse to process harmful content
  • Remember: this is for personal reflection, not public sharing

How Threadkeeper Works

AI Processing

When you record:

  1. Your audio is encrypted and uploaded
  2. AI transcribes what you said
  3. AI creates summaries and finds themes
  4. Everything is encrypted and stored for you

Service Availability

We try to keep Threadkeeper running 24/7, but:

  • Sometimes we need maintenance windows
  • Occasionally things break (we're human)
  • We'll do our best to notify you of planned downtime

Changes and Updates

We're always improving Threadkeeper:

  • New features might appear
  • Old features might change
  • We'll tell you about big changes

Payments and Subscriptions

Free Trial

New users get a free trial to explore Threadkeeper. After that, you'll need a subscription.

Subscription Details

  • Billed monthly during beta
  • Cancel anytime before renewal
  • Prices may change with 30 days notice

Refunds

We offer refunds if:

  • You cancel within 7 days of payment
  • The service is broken for more than 24 hours
  • There's a billing error

Privacy and Security

Your privacy is paramount. Please read our Privacy Policy for details, but the key points:

  • Everything is encrypted
  • We never read your content
  • You can delete everything anytime
  • We never sell your data

When Things Go Wrong

Our Responsibilities

We promise to:

  • Keep your data encrypted and safe
  • Fix bugs when we find them
  • Be transparent about issues
  • Treat your content with respect

Limitations

We can't promise:

  • The service will never have errors
  • AI summaries will be perfect
  • 100% uptime (though we try!)

If You Have Problems

  • Email us at support@threadkeeper.app
  • We typically respond within 48 hours
  • We genuinely want to help

Ending Your Account

You Can Leave Anytime

If you want to stop using Threadkeeper:

  • Export all your data first
  • Cancel your subscription
  • Delete your account
  • Everything will be removed within 24 hours

We Might Have to End Accounts

We really don't want to, but we might terminate accounts that:

  • Severely violate these terms
  • Have payment issues after multiple attempts

We'll always try to contact you first.

Legal Protections

Disclaimer of Warranties

Threadkeeper is provided "as is." While we work hard to make it great, we can't guarantee perfection.

Limitation of Liability

Our liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the last 12 months. We're not responsible for:

  • Lost data (please keep backups!)
  • Indirect damages
  • AI summaries you don't like

Indemnification

You agree to protect Threadkeeper from claims arising from your use of the service.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, USA.

Entire Agreement

These terms (plus our Privacy Policy) are the complete agreement between us.

Changes to Terms

If we change these terms:

  • We'll email you about significant changes
  • You can review changes before they take effect
  • Continuing to use Threadkeeper means you accept the new terms
